Exploring The 2D World



Here Im just playing around with a 2D aspect to see what it would look like. This is mainly to explore a comment about making our world have a 2D feel. I think this could work in some regards but not in our world at this time. Its not the style we are after.

Flipping The Image

Here, going on a comment from one of my partners, I have tried flipping the image. Im not quite sure how I feel about the out come as to me it feels the same.

The Cottage In The Fields




Just looking at our cottage location a little bit more to work out how it could look at feel. Going on the 'ring' idea that the groupe has spoken about how the buildings will come out of the ground I tried to bass the land on this idea as well.

In the making of this I tried to play around with lighting for: Mourning; Afternoon; & Night Time.
Some came out better than others and it seemed less light was somthimes better. I quite like how 3,4 due to it not being over powered by light.

Character Props

As I was not overly keen on the weapons before I thought Id have another shot at them.

I am slowly finding the style I want for them even though I do not think its quite there it its a massive step in the right direction. I particularly like; 1,3,6, as they to me have a feel of both my elements. 

Character Face's

Here Im looking more into the head of the character. These are mainly looking at hair styles and shapes that I could use.

I a few of these for my villain; 1,3,8,12, due to the feel and shape of them. I also liked; 4,7, for my hero as they have the more tatty look to them. For my evil side kick I liked; 10,13,14, due to it being more stylised and pointy.

I them tried to add more details to the face which went slightly wrong as the eyes on 2,3 are way too small. I think this is due to me drawing them after the hair in stead of before.

I then decided to look more into the eyes and mouth of the characters due to my struggle to grasp these properly.

I quite liked these, even though they are somewhat anime styled they are the level of detail I would like to use.




Character + Props

Here Im looking at my villain. Im trying to get to know her better so I can understand what sort of personality she would have.

I am beginning to look at props here. Mainly swords and staffs.

These are far from perfect but have given me ideas for what sort of weapons I'm going for.

Character Lesson 5

In this lesson we were mainly looking at posture and were given groups to work with to do different posses with.

This was quite a success as it helped work out the shapes that make up the body in these positions.

We were then told to do the same with a character and see what kind of emotions we could get out of them.

 We then looked out expressions. These were two quick drawings to try and add some expression to the character.

Eyes



Here im look at the eyes and mouth. Im not going for ultra relistic but im mainly looking at these for expretion, placement and size.

Hairstyles


Looking at both female and male hair styles. I more looking into the long/medium styles to be a bit more free forming. Im also llooking into hair styles that seem to be a little bit more evil looking.

Weapons!


Looks at my props, mainly weapons. What im after realy is like a mix of a gun and a sword or maybe a staff. Im mainly looking at more space opra weapons here but trying to add the arabian knight style in.
