Here I have experimented in making a moving linked chain which took quite a while to figure out.
Brake down in three steps.
Curve that will be used as a base for the joints and links
Joints attached and using the curve as a Spine IK
Links parented to the Joints at the links pivot point. The chain is then animated by using the Spine IK offset.
